katipo cafe, bondi

who: katipo
where: 101 bondi rd, bondi
when: everyday - 6am-4pm
what they do: breakfast/lunch
coffee: this place does the bested double espresso I've had in ages. it is a really long one with plenty of head. awwww yeaaaahhhh. it doesn't always taste amazing, but all coffee really does taste like shit, so thats ok.
service: some people there are nice, others are just not friendly at all. come on guys, it's not that hard! and i don't want to hear about you bitching about som other girl and what happened there other night, really I'm at the cash register ready to order, lets make it snappy.
how i felt: i tend to go at the back and sit on one of the couches, usually no one else is there and the lighting is dark so its great for hangovers. terrible book selection- don't have a book shelf if you only have shit books- its disrespectful to anyone who gives a fuck about reading. at the front is always busy with people standing and leaning awkwardly on things waiting for their takeaways- these people make the vibe shit.  but eveyone else is cool. its a great loner cafe. usually.

the courthouse pub, newtown

who: the courthouse
where: australia st, newtown
when: i dunno
what they do:lunch/dinner
dinner: the trout special- shit yeah this was a good dinner, cheap and great- just like me!
good selection of tequila that aint over priced
service: considering the pub was busy, everyone was really nice and friendly. the bouncers seem like legends.
how i felt: ran into a couple of old friends i haven't seen in forever , and i realised it was across the road from a park in which i gave some random dude a bj like 10 years, so there was a swell of memories from the people and the place that arose. I've changed. i charge for that shit now.

porch, north bondi

who: porch
where: 17-18/110 ramsgate ave, north bondi
when: mon-tues-6.30- 5pm. wed-sun 6.30- 10pm
what they do: breakfast/lunch/dinner
coffee: i usually order a double espresso, but everyone does it differently or call it a short black, so today i ordered a short black. i got a single espresso. it was a bit watery... bean is young maybe? so i had to order a double shot after that. it was ok.
breakfast: green pea pancake with egg, feta and heaps of leaves of things. awesome, healthy filling. will do it again- more feta please
service: friendly, attentive, remembered me straight away
how i felt: this place is always so busy, it was hard to get a seat, but if you want a healthy thoughtful breakfast- this place is the place. oh and almost some beach views, and there are always babes wandering around.

bills, bondi

who: bills
where: 75-79 hall st, bondi
when: 7am-10pm everyday
what they do: breakfast lunch dinner
coffee:double espresso- short one, but alright
breakfast: corn fritter stack with bacon and avo salsa
service: friendly, attentive, cute
how i felt: these were the most corniest corn fritters i have ever had- i loved them! but i ate too much...
had to pay $2 extra for the avo salsa- which should just be apart of the dish- seems a bit odd.
i will totally go back there- if there isn't a line up to get in as it always has one, unless you go there early before the crowds.

the ex lounge, bronte

who: the ex lounge
where: bronte rd, bronte
when: i don't know, their website doesn't give the info....
what they do: breakfast lunch dinner
coffee: ordered a double espresso- got a one espresso
breakfast: eggs and halloumi on toast with a side of chorizo
service: friendly, a lot of them, but all very young. had to remind them about the side of chorizo
how i felt: i am often surprised that cafes in suburbs that are classed as full of people with money, seems to love doing un creative food and the basics  just don't look very nice- it's not that hard to arrange food to look nice. And having wilted greens is not some thing people really want... who came up with this wilted greens thing, and why do people think we need it- it just came from coles anyways- its not like it has any nutritional value.
But what i had was good for a basic breakfast. except that cause we had to remind them about the chorizo, it wasn't very well cooked- or is it just me who likes their chorizo kinda crispy and not moist?
i would try another cafe if i was in the hood again.
